IN THE NEWS Getting to know District 2 Supervisor Robb Tucker

The Union | January 7, 2025

Months after winning the Primary Election, Robb Tucker was sworn in to office as District 2 Supervisor on Monday, Jan. 6, alongside his colleagues District 1 Supervisor Heidi Hall and District 5 Supervisor Hardy Bullock. Tucker will be replacing Ed Scofield who held the post for 16 years.

Tucker will be the youngest member on the board, serving communities of Lake of the Pines, Alta Sierra and unincorporated areas along Highway 49. A Nevada County native and business owner, this will be Tucker’s first time in a governance position.

In recent weeks, Tucker has been quickly getting up to speed — meeting with staff, taking tours, poring over budgets and contracts and previewing initiatives and policy issues.

“The County CEO’s office has a robust onboarding orientation process that has been very beneficial. It reinforces the magnitude of the job at hand, but also makes me very thankful for the wonderful, dedicated staff we are blessed with in Nevada County. I look forward to serving alongside the people that make Nevada County such a special place,” said Tucker.

Tucker was born in Nevada County. In the 1970s, his parents moved to the region to develop the Forest Springs Mobilehome Community off of Highway 49. Tucker served as President and CEO of the family business until selling it in 2020.

“I believe my private sector experience and history in the community give me a unique understanding of our community’s needs. I hope to be known as a servant leader, who leads by example with integrity and humility,” said Tucker.

Tucker grew up in Nevada County, attending Tall Pines Nursery School, Pleasant Ridge Elementary, and Magnolia Intermediate School. He was part of the first graduating class to attend all four years at Bear River High School. For 30 years, his father commuted to the Bay Area as a United Airlines pilot based at San Francisco International Airport. His mother was elected and served on the Pleasant Ridge Union School District Board of Trustees from 1989-2002

Today, Tucker is very involved in local schools, youth sports and church. He lives on acreage in South Nevada County with his wife Kristy and three children, Samara, Sela and Ethan.
