Nevada County, Calif. — Steve Hilton, the Republican nominee for Governor of California, has endorsed Robb Tucker for Congress in California’s 3rd Congressional District. Tucker, a Nevada County Supervisor and small business owner, faces Rep. Ami Bera in the November 3 general election.
“I’m honored to have Steve’s support,” said Tucker. “Steve is offering Californians something they haven’t had in a long time: a real choice. We share the same conviction that the people of this state deserve a government that works for them, not the other way around. Whether it’s lowering the cost of living, getting serious about public safety, or protecting our foothill and mountain communities from catastrophic wildfire, the voters of the 3rd District are ready for change, and I’ll fight for them every day.”
The newly drawn 3rd District stretches from Lake Tahoe through the Sierra foothills to communities east of Sacramento, including Folsom and Arden-Arcade. Tucker finished with 30 percent of the vote in the June 2 primary, advancing to the November runoff under California’s top-two system. Tucker received the most votes in Nevada, El Dorado, and Placer Counties.
Hilton, a former policy adviser to British Prime Minister David Cameron and former host of Fox News’ The Next Revolution, advanced from the June primary for governor and faces Democrat Xavier Becerra in November. His platform centers on cutting the cost of living in California.
